Janice Bailie; Ph.D., Biochemistry

 

Janice Bailie is a Biochemist with an extensive background in research and development. From 1998 until 2005, she worked as Division R & D Manager in Molecular Biology at Randox Laboratories, a manufacturer of in vitro diagnostics and instrumentation. She then went on to join the Research & Development Office in the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Northern Ireland, in January 2005, where she helps to oversee R&D funding for research in the health services and universities in Northern Ireland. Janice co-founded ScienceWrite in December 2005 with her colleague Dr. Heather Anderson, and has since completed writing projects in such diverse subjects as dental technologies, diabetic retinopathy screening technologies and pandemic influenza. She received her Doctorate degree in Biochemistry from Queen’s University Belfast.

 

Christine Chan

Christine Chan; Ph.D., Educational Psychology

 

Christine Chan is an International Educator in Psychology with a diverse background in Educational and Cognitive Psychology, as well as Human-Computer Interaction. She has successfully incorporated theoretical and applied principles from these three disciplines to advance the study of performance measures, higher-order cognitive skills, and visual-spatial relations. She was recently considered to be included in the WHO’S WHO IN AMERICAN EDUCATION (62nd Edition), scheduled for publication in 2008, and has served as an invited reviewer for several Cognitive Science Society conferences in 2007. Christine received her Doctorate degree in Educational Psychology from Michigan State University.

Guizhong Liu is a Senior Software Development Engineer in the private telecommunications industry. He has worked in various multidisciplinary fields throughout his career, and has held positions in telecommunications, NDE and metallurgy, petrochemicals, high pressure vessel manufacturing, as well as teaching at the college level. Guizhong received his Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, as well as his Doctorate degree in Material Science Engineering from Iowa State University.

Mark Parrott; B.S. & M.S., Philosophy

 

Mark Parrott is a writer who has published many books and novels. Through the years he has traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, and has spent time working as a photographer and as a college professor teaching Philosophy. As someone who literally lives his work, he looks forward to sharing his forthcoming books, among them a third novel, fourth chapbook, and new Philosophy and Science works. Mark received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Philosophy.

John Peragrine is a freelance writer living in North Carolina with his wife and two daughters in a small mountain community. In his free time he loves to play the piccolo in the Western Piedmont Symphony. John received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University, and his Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Clayton College of Natural Health.

Janice Petersen is a freelance writer and online teacher with over 30 years of experience in the field of Economics. During her career, Janice held numerous positions in both business and academia, including a teaching position overseas in Kazakhstan. Janice received her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.

 

Stephen Zimmerman, AudioLearn Editor

Stephan Zimmerman; B.S., Political Science; M.S., International Economics

  Stephan Zimmerman is a writer and teacher with a background in International Economics and Political Science. During his career, he has served as a consultant to numerous businesses, ranging from entrepreneurial startups to major multinational corporations. As an avid writer since high school, Stephan has received many accolades, including the National Observer Achievement-Dow Jones Award in Economics for his writing on monetary economics in England. Writing is also a major hobby, and his portfolio includes three published novels, a variety of poetry, industry articles and ghostwriting for private clients. A multi-linguist, Stephen offers language skills in English, German and French. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and his Master’s degree in International Economics from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
 
Anjali A. Sarkar; B.S. & M.S., Human Physiology; Ph.D., Biophysics
 

Anjali Sarkar is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow studying Neural Tube Defects in the Department of Neuroscience at Children’s Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Prior to his current fellowship, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 2005 to 2007 in the Department of Molecular Neurosciences at the Medical University of Ohio. Anjali received his Bachelor’s (Honors) and Master’s degrees in Human Physiology with a specialization in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Calcutta, India. He earned his Doctorate from the Department of Biophysics, Molecular Biology and Genetics while on a National Scholarship (NET-UGC).
